Rory McIlroy has a new 2-iron in the bag this week, the TaylorMade P790 UDI. The new UDI 2-iron heads are relatively rare, even on tour! The only players in Europe with them in play at present are Rory McIlroy & Sergio Garcia.

There has been great feedback from all the TaylorMade players on this new product. It gives you the same speed off the face as the current M1/M2 irons but with better sound/feel and that classic clean look at address you associate with a P-Series iron. Another key factor when comparing the P790 UDI to the M1/M2 long irons is the spin control, it’s easier to control ball flight/distance control, it was very consistent during testing, there wasn’t any “freaky low-spin strikes” that go 10yrds further than your normal distances.
Once the TaylorMade P790 UDI 2-iron heads become readily available to the players on the European Tour (as of the Spanish Open) you can expect to see a lot of them put in play straight away.
Martin Kaymer was spotted at the Dunhill Links this week with a new P790 3-iron in the bag.
