Introducing the PXG 0811 Driver; the PXG range of clubs have a unique numbering system which references the Marine Corps’ Military Occupational Speciality (MOS) system and is a tribute to the brave men and women who serve the United States Marine Corps.
The Driver: MOS 0811 Field Artillery Cannoneer: As a member of a field artillery howitzer battery, cannoneers prepare artillery pieces and equipment for movement, combat and firing.
The PXG 0811 Driver, which features 16 movable weights and an adjustable hosel, offers players fine-tuning options never before seen. The various combinations enable golfers to hone their launch conditions for optimal ball flight while retaining a high MOI (moment of inertia). Research has proven that fine-tuning head weight and swing weight is a very important, yet highly under-utilised, fitting attribute to optimise performance.
The PXG 0811 club head has 16 moveable weights that enable golfers to position the centre of gravity for optimal performance. While there are thousands of possible combinations, there are five common positions.
High Launch, Low Launch, Draw Bias, Fade Bias, Neutral.
The PXG 0811 Driver has platinum coloured weights made of high-density tungsten and black weights made of low-density titanium. The tungsten provides a significant mass in the club head, easily adjusted to optimise launch spin and direction.
PXG’s adjustable hosel can change the loft (+/-) 1.5deg in 0.75deg increments to optimise trajectory for each golfers unique swing.
Strength in numbers: Ti 8-1-1 is a high grade performance titanium alloy for casting extremely thin walled structures. Intricate geometries are better attained through casting.
Using a high strength titanium alloy for a thinner face, thereby saving critical mass. Mass can be redistributed to various locations within the club head leading to a more optimised ball flight.
